Differentiation of the soil cover of the floodplain of the Middle-Amur Lowland in connection with the evolution of the relief forms

The article is based on a long-term study of floodplain soils the Amur River valley within north-eastern part Middle-Amur Lowland. results field work soil-geomorphological profile across Slavyansky Island, located 200 km from Khabarovsk down River, are discussed. analyzes occurrence island's riolkas [1] and their properties, with an emphasis morphology lithological particle-size composition. features soil formation different genesis – alluvial aeolian shown. On sandy sandy-loam deposits (“meadow-forest” ridges) poorly developed sod gley formed. heavy loam clay alluvium “meadow“ ridges, annually flooded by river waters, sod-meadow develop under woodreed grass stand. Sand high characterized homogeneous fine-grained structure without interlayers, signs organic matter significant amount mica. They describe sod-forest high-trunk oak forests. texture-differentiated all types was not revealed. When reaches position first terrace above floodplain, differences in composition distribution, texture, height water edge nature vegetation inherited provide multidirectional evolution formation. At same time, development taking place accordance zonal (sod-forest, brown-earth, bleached horizon (podbel)). last mainly formed clay-loam alluvium, which can overlay only alluvial, but also some riolkas. Riolkas ancient, relatively sand ridges (extended dunes) plant cover found region (Russian Far East).
